Cezar Bolzan, Head Coach

Coach Cezar Bolzan is an ASCA level 4 certified coach (with finalization to level 5) and an NCCP level 3 certified coach in Canada, with over 25 years of experience. He has a degree in Physical Education with a Post Baccaluareate degree in the Sciences of Swimming. Coach Bolzan has done extensive research in the areas of lactate and urea in the blood stream, and has used this knowledge to aid in the training of international athletes. He has also mentored other coaches in this area. Cezar has advanced training, from the USOC training facility in Colorado Springs, in the use of bio-mechanics, lactate and altitude in developing swimmers. Experienced in managing, teaching and coaching swim clubs at the national and international levels in Brazil, Canada, and the Caribbean, Coach Bolzan is skilled in the areas of physical conditioning and stroke development. Cezar believes these are the key points for coaching a team in order to encourage all athletes to reach their full potential. One of Coach Bolzan?s former swim protégés recently competed in the Beijing Olympics!

Jessica Koepps, Assistant Coach

Jessica graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a coaching minor.  She was a club, high school, and college swimmer.  During the fall, she helped out with the Mayo H.S. girls swimming and diving team. She had also taught swim classes for community education. Jessica is also the coordinator for our CHAMPION swim school.

Greg Heidorn, Assistant Coach

During the fall, Greg helps coach the Century H.S. girls swimming/diving team.  He's also a certified lifeguard who coached at the YMCA and has taught swim classes for community education for many years.

Greg's four children are either swimmig now, or have swum with MCA.  He is the pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Joe Desannoy, Assistant Coach

Joe earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees (cum laude) from Minnesota State University, Mankato to be a teacher and swim coach. He swam competitively in junior and senior high plus part of college. Joe also served as a lifeguard and swim instructor throughout high school and college. He has taught in the Rochester Public Schools for six years in many different positions. Joe is nearly at ASCA Level 2 and in his fourth year with Med City Aquatics.

Sandra Jahnke, Assistant Coach

Sandra is a graduate of John Marshall where she swam for three years. Sandra went to Mankato State University where she majored in art education, elementary education, special education and received her coaching certification. Sandra swam backstroke and distance free style for MSU for three years. She lived and taught in the Hutchinson area for the next 14 years where she also was the assistant girls swimming coach for two years. Sandra moved back to Rochester seven years ago with her two sons who are now ages 17 and 20, and she is currently the special education work coordinator for Century High School. Sandra has since completed her masters degree and a post-masters degree in administration. She was the assistant Mayo/Century Boys Swimming coach for five years and this year took on the position of head coach for both the girls and boys Mayo swim teams.
